Egypt SkyOne Extreme Paramotor Event

Where should I even start…….? How can I possibly describe my electrifying feelings and the jaw-dropping views of soaring so close above the iconic Wonders of the World? Was it all real or just AI magic? 🙂

A few months ago, I reached out to the amazing SkyOne paramotor organization in Cairo, Egypt, to fly my powered Mosquito Hang Glider (check out my dedicated webpage about my Mosquito here) during their epic Gate 7 event. For seven incredible years running, SkyOne has organized this thrilling paramotor event, unlocking breathtaking flights over the Pyramids and beyond! It turned out transporting my Mosquito from the Netherlands to Egypt was a massive challenge. Fingers crossed we’ll nail it next time with more preparation time to find the perfect solution.

So I moved to plan B! Joining the Belgian PMSA Paramotor association to make epic skydives from a paramotor above the mighty Pyramids of Giza. Sadly, just a week before the event, the Egyptian aviation authorities stopped it. “If you can’t change it, embrace it!” So we moved to plan C!

Plan C was a great plan too: still joining the event with four exhilarating paramotor tandem flights over the Pyramids and Luxor, plus a magical balloon flight over Luxor all included in the package!

My very first flight over the Saqqara Pyramid gave me instant goosebumps and I knew that even bigger thrills were coming! The next day, after another early-morning wake-up call (we chase those perfect stable weather windows, so we fly at dawn or dusk), I witnessed one of the most mind-blowing views of my entire life! Flying so close to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx was pure magic, absolutely unforgettable!! My Insta360 and GoPro camara’s were firing on all cylinders, capturing every pulse-pounding moment and emotion in the skies over Giza.

The super-skilled tandem pilots, Hussain and Osama, flew me safely incredibly close to these ancient miracles. The SkyOne team’s warm, enthusiastic welcome back made the experience absolutely perfect. So, the next day, I booked an extra flight to stretch out that euphoric feeling even longer!

In the afternoon, after our flights, we dove into exploring the Pyramids up close, including a visit to the stunning new Egyptian Museum. Egypt’s mind-blowing history had us hooked, though I’m convinced that the Pyramids were built by an even more advanced and older society than the tour guides shared!

After a well-deserved chill day, we jetted to Luxor for the next chapter of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. There, we soared over the majestic Nile, Luxor Temple, and Karnak Temple. I couldn’t resist to book another extra flight to marvel at these monumental temples in the golden evening light too!

The next day I experienced an overwhelming balloon flight with over 80 balloons in the air.

Right now, I’m on a “normal” plane heading home, buzzing with joy as I write this blog. In summary:

•  I completed 6 unforgettable paramotor flights!

•  The SkyOne team is an incredibly positive, energetic crew I’ll cherish forever!

•  These Egyptian Wonders of the World are etched in my mind for life!

•  Connecting with adventurous, open-hearted people from around the globe was truly a gift!

•  Paramotor flying is a mechanical sport. 100% perfection is just an illusion.

What’s next?

•  In February 2026, I’m most likely joining a skydiving event in Kenya!

•  I’m determined to return and to become the first person to fly with a Mosquito over the Pyramids!

•  That means that I will team up with the SkyOne crew to ” crack the code” to ship my Mosquito to Cairo for their Gate 8 event in Q4 2026! Fingers crossed that we’re able to make this happen!!!
